If you're just starting to delve into the fascinating and sometimes complex world of chakras and chakra healing, this simple guide will aim to introduce you to the basic foundations of the 7 main energy points that make up the connection between our physical and spiritual bodies.
What Are Chakras?
The word 'chakra' is Sanskrit and means 'wheel'. Every human being has 7 major chakras, or wheels, that run down the spine in their aura. You could say that our chakras govern our physical body and also correspond to particular organs.
The 7 chakras are located at specific energy points along the body and are also made up of different colours that can be seen physically in the aura.
The 7 Chakras And What They Represent

The Base Chakra is red and is located at the base of the spine. In this area, it governs the physical organs and is represented by our survival.

The Sacral Chakra is orange and is located just below the belly button. It represents our relationships to others and to ourselves. Positive or negative, it can have an effect on relationships of any kind.

The Solar Plexus Chakra is yellow and is located just above the belly button. It represents our emotions and is also known as the solar power centre.

The Heart Chakra is green with a tinge of pink and is located in the centre of the chest. It represents unconditional love, joy and happiness.

The Throat Chakra is blue and is located in the throat. This chakra represents communication, the will of God and the power to speak our truth in all ways.

The Third Eye Chakra is indigo and is located in the centre of the forehead between the eyebrows. It represents our connection to the spiritual realms, psychic awareness and intuition.

The Crown Chakra is ultra violet light and is located on the top of the head. This chakra is the opening to our soul, the higher energy connections and the I AM presence.
There are many smaller chakras and energy points in the body as well as Higher Chakras governing our spiritual path. The more we practice with visualising the colours, the more we help raise our vibrations and cells of the physical body.
