This is a simple yet effective way to clear, cleanse and balance any room in your home to prepare it for meditation, healing and other spiritual practices.
Items you'll need:
A white candle
Incense or smudge stick
A small bell or Singing Tibetan bowl (optional)
Step 1
First, you need to choose your sacred space. Walk around your house and see if you feel drawn to any particular area. It could be a cozy corner, a sunlit window or even a quiet spot in the garden. Find a place where you feel relaxed, close your eyes and ask yourself if you feel right in that area. If the answer is yes, move on to the next step! If not, keep going until you find that perfect space.
Step 2
Next, you need to set the energies of your sacred space. We set the energies by first invoking the spirit entities you have an affinity with the most. These can be your personal spirit guides, guardian angels or Ascended Masters. Depending on what you intend to use your sacred space for, you can even call upon the nature and spirit divas of the earth to help ground and anchor the energies.
Say out loud or in your head - "I call upon (your choice of energies) to bless this space, to balance and harmonise the area and to keep it protected from outside negativeness and influences. on a permanent basis."
Step 3
Take a white candle and your incense or smudge stick. You can choose your favourite incense scent. However, the incense with the strongest energy for casting out negativity is sandalwood, rosemary, sage, frankincense and dragons blood. With a lighted candle and incense stick, start to move the energy in the space by walking backwards and forwards sweeping the spiraling smoke up and down or in a circular motion. You can say a prayer or affirmation of your choice while doing this that corresponds to the sacred space you are creating.
Step 4
At this stage, sound is recommended to move stagnant energy from an area that hasn't been used for awhile because the energy can get stuck in corners. A good sound vibration is a bell or cymbals. You may even have a Singing Tibetan bowl. If not, simply clapping your hands together also works well. Make a sound or clap three times - this is a universal number that greatly empowers the energies. You may leave your candle burning for awhile afterwards ( but never leave it unattended!)
Step 5
Now, close your eyes while sitting or kneeling in your sacred space. Start to feel the changes you have created. By burning a candle and incense, you're opening the spiritual doorways for the positive energies you have asked for to come in and be anchored in the sacred space. You can keep your sacred space cleared and balanced anytime by just sounding a bell or clapping your hands again to move the energies around and keep them fresh.
Enjoy your newly created sacred space!
